What is this tool?

Many BI tools (like Power BI, Tableau, and Azure Maps) allow you to display data geographically using custom shape maps. However, finding the exact map boundaries you need—without the clutter of irrelevant regions—can be difficult.

This tool allows you to:

• Select from multiple base maps (e.g., World, Europe, US, China).
• Interactively choose the countries or regions you want by clicking on the map or selecting from the table.
• Download your customized map data as a ZIP file containing both TopoJSON (best for Power BI) and GeoJSON formats.

How to use the tool

1. Choose a base map from the available options.
2. Select regions by clicking on the map or checking the boxes in the list.
3. Download the data as a ZIP file.
4. Import the TopoJSON/GeoJSON file into your preferred visualization tool:
   • Power BI: Use the "Shape Map" visual and upload the TopoJSON file.
   • Tableau: Import the GeoJSON file as a spatial file.
   • Azure Maps: Use the GeoJSON file for reference layers.
